I Just saw a program called Shazam this weekend on a friends IPhone and i have to say it is one of the coolest apps i have seen in a long time. If you hear a song out in the environment (restaurant, bar, elevator, etc..) and you want to know the info on it, you just hit the shazam record icon and it takes a sample of the song and identifies it for you. I think you can then purchase the song online. I can see myself actually transacting with this type of program and it seems that it is destined to become a standard on all mobile units.
I emailed Shazam and they must be too myopic to realize there is at least two other platforms just screaming for their technology. They only have plans for the IPhone OS right now????? Man at times like these I would love to know how to program. I would attempt to create a platform for all Mobile OS's and it would only be a matter of time before the Online music Etailers came a knocking with contracts. Good luck to those who pick this idea up and attempt to capitalize.
