I anticipate it may be a matter of months from now until I release any
of my apps, first I will need a device, then I will need to spend time
actually using the apps to decide where they fall short, then I'll
have to make the improvements.

Simply: I won't be releasing an app until I've lived with it a while.
Being one of the first apps in the market place will provide
publicity, but I'm not sure it will provide much else.
