I have been a Tracfone user for a couple of years and am very happy
with the service. However, I must admit to having an occasional bout
of iphone envy. Then I remind myself that I pay only around $8 a month
for my cell phone service. I am thinking that Android might provide
the perfect solution for we pay as you go users who want a more fully
featured phone.

Is anyone out there working on compatibility with Tracfone service?
All I believe that needs to happen is a small bit of programming that
will take care of the Tracfone specific part of their service such as
keeping track of minutes in your call bank and displaying that info to
the user.

In a related note, as I understand it Android handsets can connect to
the web through Wi-fi hot spots rather than having to rely on a
service provider data service. Is this correct?
