Interesting! That would imply that the Java ME version performs better even though the CPU load ought to be virtually the same in both cases (the CPU intensive parts of my source are identical for the Android and Java ME versions). A one or two second lag is normal though, and as such it runs OK even on my humble old Nokia 6680 camera phone. Of course there are many lower level phone differences like Dalvik versus JIT, and the Android limitations on playing byte arrays and camera image decoding. Any of these factors can easily kill performance.
