monkeyboy means why can't they be run from the SD card and not just
downloaded to the SD card.

SlideME downloads to the SD card but the application is still
installed and copied to the ram. This is a really big deal and people
are starting to realize this. This is the only device that has SD
expansion and does not allow you to install apps to it. Windows
Mobile, Palm, S60  allow it. Even the iPhone must be doing something
like that with its built in flash memory.

I have searched everywhere for an answer. This issue does not appear
on the roadmap for Android. Can someone from the Android Team shed
some light on this issue?
