This IS NOT a tmobile-policy. My previous phone was a Dash , and I used the phone as a modem all the time.
It's clear that someone will develop a application for the g1, but I'm really surprised that the phone was released without this application being available. I really was suprised to see that the OS on the g1 was very limited compared to the winmo on the Dash. There are simply a lot of things that need to be added. I'm hoping to start a project for an "online configurator" where g1 (or other android phone owners) can go and create a profile of common settings they want on their phone, and then the service builds them a custom version of android that they can install on their phone. It's a sad day win the winmo has much more customizability than all an Open-Source OS. Oh well, I'm just hoping like everyone else that it can get there. I'm hoping this website will allow the average joe to unlock a lot of the custom settings that are lacking in the settings menu on the handheld set.
