Hi, I'm often abroad with my G1 and I don't want to pay the prohibitive 3G roaming charges. Since I still want a data connection and always have a Linux laptop with a wired network connection nearby I have tried the following:
- USB networking, Android doesn't seem to support it - Bluetooth PAN, Android doesn't seem to support it - Create a Wifi ad-hoc network on my laptop, Android doesn't seem to support it - Create a Wifi managed network, my laptop doesn't seem to support it (Intel 3945ABG chip) Am I wrong, or does anybody have any other ideas?
