We bought a locked T-Mobile G1 from the US (thanks to a kind guy who
walked to a store and bought it for us). As I said before we are based
in Spain and T-Mobile has no network here. We just wanted to use it
for development but we couldn't pass the initial activation because we
didn't have internet access (and we didn't find any way to set up the
wireless communication without passing the activation step first). So
we unlocked it through http://www.unlock-tmobileg1.com. Once we
unlocked it, I used a different SIM (Vodafone) and entered the APN
data to pass the initial activation. Now it is working without
problems at 3G speeds in different carriers (Movistar, Vodafone,
Yoigo, etc.) and, by the way, we have received the RC30 update some
days ago.

I hope our experience can help somebody,

Jose Luis.
