No real irony, as I see it: the source code was released too late as open
source; the project-on-device was released too early, given the glaring gaps
in functionality, e.g. crappy general email support, no way to put apps on
external storage, etc.

(This won't make it onto the android-discuss list: Dan Morrill "moderated"
me for actually attempting to discuss things there...)
