This is my list of suggested improvements after a few days of using
Android.
Some of this has already been mentioned, and a lot of it hasn't.
I hope Android dev team reads this.
-Multitouch zoom in browser.
-On screen keyboard with tactile feedback. (In roadmap for next
release?)
-Copy text from anywhere.
-Trackball fix. Sometimes skips to top\bottom of page while scrolling.
-Visual indicator for long press, like tablet PC.
-Messaging\email\general GUI set text size.
-Custom fonts\themes.
-Autocorrection visual indicator similar to blackberry or iphone.
-Autocorrection learning\manual customization, better dictionary.
-Magnifier for placing text caret.
-Notifier history listed somewhere.
-Universal notification sound settings (all notifications grouped in
one list.)
-Set led indicator for only certain events. Custom per event.
-Set vibrate length, delay, repeat.
-IM app allow multiple accounts. Ability to delete contact.
-Ignore text messages from user.
-Searchable messages.
-Messages need to load faster- big lag on opening long threads.
-Browser improvements-
Hold modifier key to open in new tab.
Back\forward history.
Faster tab switching in browser, better tab list.
Simulate other browser ID to avoid mobile sites.
Up\down\left\right\zoom\pagedown\pageup\top\bottom hotkeys.
-Maps improvements-
Reroute
Voice navigation
Avoid tolls and highways (!)
Hide instructions during direction view
Autocomplete with contact addresses
Allow typing contact name "Home" searches for Home contact
address
Map zoom to show current\next direction location. Not scroll to
location, zoom to show both.
Better history for searches
-GMail improvements
Multiple accounts
Select multiple messages
Better label support
Searchable messages
Smaller font!
-Quit applications.
-Faster switching between applications, or option to set less delay on
app switcher. Maybe dock.
-Customizable hotkeys for apps.
-Access phone filesystem via usb.
-Phone restart.
-Set keyboard backlight timeout.
-Disable keyboard menu\search key.
-Disable virtual desktops.
-Folders/way to organize apps.
-List view for apps in menu or on desktop.
-More on-phone help and documentation for tips and features.
