Here's the best solutions I've found so far for Trimet users:

Transit Tracker with nice mobile-phone compatible layout (it's
designed for iPhone, but works fine on G1, no location aware goodies:

Android App in early development:

Again, no location-aware functionality, allows you to punch in a stop
ID and get arrival times.

In an ideal world, here's what I would like to see:

1). Stop selection either by map view with My Location
functionality, or by stop number, or address
2). The ability to be able to select one of those nearby stops from
the map view, and see upcoming arrivals
3). Route overlays on the map selectable either by stop (so I can
see where all the buses at a given stop go), or by route number (so I
can see where the 9 goes, e.g.)
4). Trip planning, again with either My Location or address inputs
5). Flying cars and rocket shoes

For the record.
