All, Can I suggest that to denote a version of an app which is not publicly available the following meta-data tag is added to the manifest;
<meta-data android:name="publicRelease" android:value="false" /> This should help update programs skip beta versions when doing update checks. By using this tag it gives us a system which is compatible with the current and cupcake releases, does not affect any existing programs, and is easy to programatically check. What do people think?
