Exactly !

Jain Sip is the stack that the first link refers to. The stack is open
source, and works well !
However, my ambitions are to go a little further after porting the stack :

1. Developing a complete IMS call control client compliant to 3GPP Release 8.
2. Developing a Presence client.
3. Developing a XCAP client to talk to an OMA compliant XDM server.
4. Developing a presence enabled Instant Messaging client.
5. Developing adjunct functionalities, such as device bootstrapping
procedures, procedures to be followed during device boot time, ability
to read from a device smart card etc.

The call control client in point 1 is the logical base of the entire
software. Points 2,3 and 4 are service enablers that build upon the
ims call control client. We can add any number of services clients,
standard or proprietary to support IMS applications. Services clients
can be as trivial as a wake up call scheduler, or as complex as an
IPTV control client !We can also support google applications and
widgets by having a services client for it.

The last step would be integration with a classy GUI.
I am in 2 minds whether to start such a project or not ! Will need to
go deeeeper into Android too.

Aayush.
