I did. And I don't think that the results given in the link categorically show that it is a software issue *only*.No doubt it would run faster on Mono. That doesn't mean that the battery, and other hardware are all perfect though.
It would be good to see the same tests running on different hardware (e.g. iPhone etc.) However this isn't going to happen as it would be too much work AFAIK. As I already said I'm not disagreeing that it would run faster on Mono it's just that it may have acceptable performance without it.
