I've had my G1 since October and have had no problem syncing with Gmail until the past 2 days. Suddenly, it won't sync. If I go to Settings -> Data synchronization, it says "Sync is currently experiencing problems. It will be back shortly". I've tried disabling and re-enabling Gmail sync, but that doesn't help. If I clear all the data in Gmail storage, it will download my mail and sync again for a few hours, then it quits again. I have plenty of storage space.
I spoke to my local T-Mobile rep, and he said the error message above is listed as a known issue with no known solution. In my experience doing tech support for developers, that usually means they can't reproduce it.
