Look back over the history of this project and you'll see how Google handles the developers with respect to this. There was no public information around about Market when the 'phone was launched and I would say was more important to more people than paid for apps.
Please don't clog the list with "Me too" mails, every developer considering trying to make a living as an Android developer wants to know when it's going to happen, but "Me too" emails aren't going to get you the information.
