Starting this past weekend, all of a sudden the Android Market stats for new Active Users for my app has dropped VERY sharply while the new downloads are higher than usual. (This is usually a symptom of large numbers of existing users re-downloading and re-installing the app) The user comments are positive as ever, the rating remains high at 4 stars, and emails to me the developer also remain positive. I have retested my app on RC33 and it works fine. I'm confused, and apparently with no recourse to really get in touch with someone at Google to understand what is really going on.
I am suspecting that with the new Android Update RC33 something has changed with the way these download and new user numbers are captured, calculated or reported.
