I just have a feeling that in the near futher, there will be needs for
a mobilephone to be also a reliable/accurate/robust navigator. The
current mobilephones with typical (A)GPS capability may not be able to
fulfill such requirements. So we might need to find a way for the
improvement.

However, this is just my personal speculation. In fact, we might not
need any improvment on the existing (A)GPS functionality. I am not
sure about this becasue I could not find a reasonable use case that
would need this improved navigation functionality.

One senario I can imagin is that when the GPS satellite visibility is
very poor, we will also get a very poor GPS solution even assisted by
the network. But this will only last probably few minuites when
signals quality get better you will be back the GPS solution. So this
can not be a good reason for why we need the improved navigation
system in mobilephone.

What do you think about this? Any obvious use-case regarding the need
for the GPS navigation improvement in smartphone? I believe on can do
a lot with Android regarding this issue.

thanks,
