I've just uploaded my first paid application (Yay!), but I was surprised and disappointed that I could only specify the price in my local currency (GBP).
Presumably that means that users in other countries will: a) See a constantly-fluctuating price estimate instead of the traditional nice round number minus 0.01. b) Not be certain how much the app is going to cost after the actual exchange rate and foreign transaction fees are taken into account. My app is cheap so the transaction fees could be a substantial percentage of the base cost (quite likely to be > 100%, in fact). I suspect this will annoy users and make them want refunds. a) is a pain, but b) seems to be a big issue to me, and puts me at a disadvantage to US sellers. I realize it's too late to do anything about it before the full launch next week, but let me be the first to request (/plead/beg) to be able to set local prices. I appreciate this will require a substantial amount of work from the Google Checkout people, but That-Other-Payment- Processor has offered this facility since approximately forever, and That-Other-Mobile-Platform offers local pricing too. -- Jon --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Android Discuss" group.
