I applied for the merchant account, after months of coding. Now I get this message:
"Verification: Your merchant account has been closed" Ok, there was an error of some kind. I'll just re-apply right? Wrong: "Can I open a new merchant account? No. Any merchant account opened in connection with this current account will be closed without notice." So I will try to use my name again, with my gmail address, and my Paypal credit card that has enough money for registration - my only real online card that I have. If this doesn't work again then I have to give up Android altogether. With no way to sell apps, I'm completely out of the game. Also, I wonder what this will be like for end-users. Do they need a Google checkout account to buy apps, or is it just done through the service provider?
