Cool Ideas!  I have some comments, and an idea of my own.  I'm not a
programmer, either.  That's why I'm here.

I know of several times whan I could have used this!  No more waiting
an hour for an open table.

Not only would this be useful for tourism, but a group of people could
use it for a scavenger hunt.  Give people the clues, and if they
figure out the right place to go, their mobile recieves the next clue.

My idea for an app:  I play Halo 3 (along with millions of other
people), and I like to check my stats at Bungie.net.  However, this
website is graphics intensive and spreads everything over several
pages, making it a little inconvenient to view on a mobile device over
a mobile connection.  Maybe someone can make an app that draws the
stats from Bungie's servers and displays them on Android-formatted
screens.  I assembled some concept pictures here:
