The issue of using the SD card for me is not about backing up my apps, but simply having more room for applications. I have already uninstalled OVER A DOZEN applications on my phone because I was out of space with the G1's weak onboard memory. I have heard of other G1 users uninstalling multiples of that amount. How stupid is that? All the work YOU developers have done is getting uninstalled because people have to decide whether YOUR app is as important to them as some other app from a SPACE-SAVING perspective (not a value perspective).
Let me say that again: Yes, that's right--people have uninstalled YOUR APP that you spent hundreds of hours creating to SAVE SPACE on their phone, even if they liked it. Flexible storage (like the SD card) is the future. Don't be fools, Google, get it done. Otherwise, everyone else can get ready to lose revenue as developers. Please don't tell me that the G2 or G3 or G4 will have more onboard memory, because: 1) storage always fills up-- check your own hard drives, and 2) a flexible storage option allows a given product to compete over a longer period of time (in case anyone hasn't noticed, this phone business is all about competition). --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Android Discuss" group.
