I'd be interested in peoples views on this.

The traditional view of Alpha, Beta, and Release is as follows;

Alpha - Feature incomplete, expected to be buggy.
Beta - Feature complete, some bugs expected in edge cases (i.e.
non-trivial usage)
Release - Feature complete, very few bugs expected.

At the moment I'd say say that Market is in the Alpha 'phase. The
reasons for this are;

- Lack of multi-currency support (If the US are the only users who can
pay for apps why is everyone else forced to list in a currency other
than US Dollars?)
- Lack of robust copy protection (Whats deployed is easily circumvented
by rooting a G1, and can not be used on the ADP1 which has been on sale
for months).
- Problems with displaying developer 'phone numbers (Numbers that were
suppose to be private numbers getting copied and shown to the public).
- Lack of a web front end to view comments and competing apps.

What do other people think?
