Google is under the monopoly microscope of government regulators from
around the world. Imho, they are walking a 21st century tight rope
between the telecom industry, device manufacturers, and software
development hoping to maintain and grow their "search business".
Imho, Google cares about Google, we are on our own.

Even I have raised an eyebrow watching Google release "free
applications" for Android. The now prime example is the Android
Market, make a bunch of promises, have a contest, deliver most
promises, then weakly support the Android market while delivering 1st
class "free applications" for not only Android, but for many other
platforms as well. In my view, Google developing free closed source
applications to undermine potential competitors is laissez-faire
capitalism.

Throwing Android over the fence to placate competitive interests seems
like a smart move. I've taken the bait and am still running with it.
My greatest hope is that Android takes on a life of its own as Linux
has done to out maneuver bullying monopolies.

Cheers,
Wes
