Was watching the Gadget show (uk) the other night and they were doing a feature on portable music players that changed the world.
One presenter chose the sony walkman and one chose the iPod (surprise surprise), anyway the interesting thing about this feature was the history of the walkman. It was not an overnight success and it was not until Sony gave each of their employees a walkman, the public would then see them out and about with the walkman and sales rocketed.
