Well, *push* is a bit of a funny term with a web app. Where would the email be pushed to? I agree that you'd get no notification of new mail with the web app alone, but that's not quite the same - and could be accomplished with a much smaller app than the native Gmail client, if it comes to that. It's also so easy to shortcut a favorite on the Android desktop that I don't think the PITA argument holds much water. :^) Having said that, I don't see the advantage of the web app anyway. It's a different UI, but not particularly better, IMHO.
