Yeah, that document is a completely invalid way of looking at market
share. Their pie chart on page 2 is proof -- apple has *nowhere near*
50% market share in the US, and symbian is currently #1. Not to
mention also that crackberry is also above apple.

What that document is, is a report on their ADVERTISING. The fact that
more or less developers are interested in hosting their ads in their
applications has very little to do with the market share of a
particular OS -- if it did, then symbian would be taking up the
biggest chunk of the pie. And RIM, but rim is mostly involved in
corporate networks rather than being a consumer device, so there is a
big control against all those supported-by-ads crap programs.
