FWIW I've had that problem since the very first release. Its getting better, but it still tends to start registering late and skip some events along the way for the first few seconds. (I've learned to just wait. But its one of the first things people notice when they ask to see the phone.. "oh gimme a sec, it doesn't unlock right if you don't wait." "um. what??")
