I have an unlocked Vodafone G1 in UK and from about Friday 1st May until Tuesday 12th May, my access to paid market apps was blocked.
I since found out on the Android Market help forum that this is because with the release of HTC Magic G2, Vodafone are looking to take payments on market apps on phone bill rather than Google Checkout. Whether this has been achieved yet or not, I am not sure but I can now see paid apps again. This was bad for initial sales of G2 in UK as Vodafone customers with G1 or G2 could not buy any apps on market until this morning. Some of them even talked on forums about returning and getting an iPhone instead. On the positive side, G2 is getting very good reviews (I guess on the form factor) and there's lots of advertising and talk about it here. Not sure if the US guys are aware of whats been happening over here with Vodafone and Google Checkout, but thought it would be of interest. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Android Discuss" group.
