I had one customer from Australia who couldn't buy my app because paid
apps are not available in Australia yet. Because they really needed
the application, I went through the effort of setting up a slideme.org
account and made the app available to them. The customer's initial
purchase failed (because of incorrect configuration of Amazon
payments) and I had to deal with a fair amount of configuration and
emails before the sale finally concluded.

That has been the only sale I have had on slideme (on Android Market,
I get about 5 a day) in the month or so I have set it up. Of course, I
haven't been actually paid yet because the amount has to exceed a
threshold before it is paid out.

Overall, I am not sure if it was worth the effort, but it gives me the
peace of mind that if a customer did want to buy the app and did not
have access to paid apps in the Android Market, I could direct them to
slideme.
