I'd just wait until early June (esp since they aren't doing a push this
week..) after the "everyone should have it" deadline, and then do a manual
check from inside the settings app.

Alternately, once the URL is discovered you can do a manual upgrade by
saving the update.zip to sdard (there are plenty of guides on applying
update.zip out there). I have even seen some evidence that the USA/UK G1s
use the same keys, so you could use that method to apply the UK update now.
