I was surprised about the r2 as well, I had no idea a new SDK was out, so I tried to look into a few things and found out a new ADP1 image is out too
JBQ talks about the ADP1 image over on the Android-DevPhoneUpdating group http://groups.google.com/group/Android-DevPhone-Updating/browse_thread/thread/d42ce38cf5d5497f It looks like the SDK 1.5r2 tag in git made by Dianne Hackborn mentions the same security issue http://android.git.kernel.org/?p=platform/frameworks/base.git;a=commit;h=f5b70ef0f244eec1dc3642e05f555598de84e98a I am speculating here but maybe this is why the G1 cupcake ota was pushed back for people in the US, and it might explain the small ota update that the UK cupcake peoples have been getting Here is a page describing the security problem (taken from JBQ's post) http://www.ocert.org/advisories/ocert-2009-006.html It looks like Google was trying to not really announce the new image as to attract as little attention about the security update as possible? But then again they did all of this updating out in the open via the git comment and JBQs post, so that is definitely good of them If there are any other differences in the SDK r2 or the new ADP1 image I would be very interested in learn about them ---snctln www.snctln.com On May 24, 9:41 pm, SizzlingSkizzorsProgrammer <[email protected]> wrote: > thanks for the heads up! > > I got r1 and never noticed r2...what's the difference?
