I realize this may be a kind of dumb question, but, I have the new 1.5/ cupcake update on my phone, and I can't figure out how to turn on the on-screen keyboard.
I checked in the new system settings under Locale and Text. "Android Keyboard" has a check mark next to it, and it also lists "Device keyboard" with different settings. When I long-press any entry box it brings up an option that says "Input Method" and when I tap that, it already shows "Android Keyboard" with a filled-in radio button.
