I am barely able to keep up with the computer jargon and cant tell the diff between a dill or an exe file.
anyway, i connect my G1 to my laptop and had loaded the PdaNet on my phone and my laptop. Everything worked great. Later in the week i had to do a system restore on the laptop. Now, I can't get my computer to recognize my G1. It reports a malfunctioned device. I also attempted to connect a sony camera and i got the same error message. Under unknown device properties, it states there are no drivers installed to support the device. However, my laptop did recognize my sons camera so I know it can identifiy some plug n play. Anyway, I attempted to download the android_usb_windows.zip package to see if this would fix the problem. What happen is the file was unable to find a program to open the dll file with. I can't open the installation file! So, my son suggested I download something called WINRAR. ... dear dear dear. What a mess. I used this program and attempted download again. same thing. i cant get the files (and am not even completely sure it will work anyway) so then, being random and desparate, I attempted to download the SDK file from android site. SAME THING. won't open, cant download it. my phone is currently not recognizing that it is using usb and my computer is not recognizing the phone. I have windows xp on a compaq laptop. I can find any info with clear directions if anyone could help me???? thanks, (dum ol lady trying to keep up)... puddles :) --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Android Discuss" group.
