I have used my HTC Magic for a couple of months now and overall I'm very happy with it.
A couple of things I'd like to see improved are: 1. Its very difficult to move shortcuts between the 3 regions of the 'desktop'. It would be much easier to use if the desktop didn't 'snap' to a region but was one continuous scrolling area. At least provide an option to turn off snapping. 2. There's currently no way to group related applications. I'd like to organise my apps better by creating groups of apps, so that, for instance, I don't have to scroll through a huge list of unrelated games and utilities. I hope this feedback is helpful.
