Not sure how many are concerned with this - but let me put it out there. A bit of a rerun of earlier posts, now in light of the ADC2.
Of course Google Inc. released apps are not eligible for the ADC2 or presumably any ADC/Google run contests in the future. Regardless - apps released under the Google Inc. brand during the evaluation period of the ADC2 run a risk of competing with apps that have been submitted to the ADC2, thus interfering with their evaluation --- so my request here is for Google to hold off on any new releases or upgrades to existing apps at least until the ADC2 is over - or, ever, actually. I have no problem with Google devs building apps and release under an unrelated "brand" name. Otherwise, I'll claim Google hurts the app development ecosystem of independent devs, as Google's devs leverage their brand name to promote their certainly great apps out there. Guys, please understand that you are not competing against wallpaper, cartoons and ringtone apps (also known as crapware), but rather with apps that may just as well be as sophisticated as your products. Why run the risk of discouraging devs? JP --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Android Discuss" group.
