I can't express how terrible the Android Market is. It's so bad that I think the Android leads should consider putting the project on another team. I remember folks during IO asking why the Android Market was so crappy and the question was deflected to Android Market team members who were not there.
Why it is beyond terrible: 1) After 4 months of its existence, users STILL can not download apps correctly. The primary functionality of the application does not work. It will stall and users will need to wait nearly a day or two. I get tons of emails about this and I provide one canned response stating how buggy the Android Market is and there's nothing I can do. 2) They keep making stupid changes. A new stupid change is where users who download an update will see a message stating that the app is "authorizing through credit card" again. This is just terrible. I am not sure if it is really going through credit card authorization again or whether it's just a stupid message but users are freaking out, thinking they are getting charged twice. 3) There are an endless amounts of bugs going from upgrading, failing to handle minimum SDK version, and etc. Some get fixed, others do not. I do not know how these bugs can even get passed quality assurance. These bugs are all on the Android Market Help forums but nothing is ever done to rectify them. Applications in android suffer enough from Google Checkout restrictions and poor interfaces in the Android Market; however it will for sure never go any where with such a terrible buying experience. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Android Discuss" group.
