Sounds nice as long as i get paid. I'm glad motorola is entering the android market. I have high hopes for their devices. Hopefully I'm just imagining the BS vibes I'm getting from them.

Some of the names may have been changed to protect the innocent :). Imagine OEMS shipping alternatives to Googles Market. Imaging the alternatives having feeds between them to share data on applications. Imagine Motorola being one entry point who feed data about apps submitted to them into other app stores. This would make it possible for Motorola to take your app listing, pass it out via a feed to AndAppStore who then feed it on to other OEMs as well as the AndAppStore site & client which is used in various ports. That would mean an app you list at Motorola would appear on Neo FreeRunners running Koolus port, the Nitdroid Nokia N810 port, and a number of other announced and unannounced devices. This is a situation we at AndAppStore support because it benefits developers due to maximising their app exposure, benefit OEMS by allowing them to customise their app store client, and benefit users by bringing as many apps as possible to them via whatever channel they liked, and benefits app stores by making sure they have a good stock of apps to offer users. Sounds good doesn't it ;). Al. -- * Written an Android App? - List it at http://andappstore.com/ * ====== Funky Android Limited is registered in England & Wales with the company number 6741909. It just "sounds" like they've created a new tool. Sounds like marketing BS to me. The early acess to their hardware that is good. The part were they claim that they will make it really easy to distribute to multiple mediums if you develope for them is what bothers me. I don't believe it and sounds like major BS to me. The stuff Motorola has put out seems to focus on the fact that they distribute and eclipse + plugin bundle as a single package and so try to make life easier for devs rather than trying to say they've created a new SDK. Their early access programme gives access to technical details about their phones, I've not seen Motorola say anything about getting early access to "a novel suit of Google Android developer tools plus programs via Motodev.". I think this is more the journo getting it wrong than Motorola trying to do something nasty. Red flags are going off with Motos attitude. I really hope they don't break Andoid so that apps developed specifically for their phones wont run anywhere else. Hope this doesn't become a repeat of J2ME. http://www.topnews.in/motorola-launches-motodev-kit-woo-android-developers-2193993 --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Android Discuss" group.
