I'll bet you product managers at said companies do randomly browse
message boards that happen to contain suggestions about a product.
And of course they are influenced by what they read.

I like the idea of an underground ad campaign for Android.

I also like this list.  Other boards are better for a specific
purpose, and IRC is great if that's your thing, but I think this is
the board people are most likely to find, that can accept the broadest
range of Android related topics.
