As I understand it the product hasn't, as yet, shipped. Theres an android-1.6_r1 tag in the git repository which refers to a set of features, but as of now you can only get an SDK based on that and there aren't any consumer devices shipping with 1.6 installed.
http://android.git.kernel.org/?p=platform/frameworks/base.git;a=log;h=refs/tags/android-1.6_r1 seems to indicate there was still stuff coming in to donut as recently as the start of this month, so I recon that we're in the testing phase now and it'll be a few weeks before anything with donut on "ships".
