I upgraded my g1 dev phone to 1.6 yesterday.
Since then, I have experienced a strange issue with my sd-cards.

First of all, the camera app asks me to "insert an sd card before
using the camera". The sd card is most certainly inserted, it is not
mounted to read from a pc, and the gallery app can browse photos
already taken.

If I plug the phone into my pc using the usb cable and mount the
drive, I am able to browse the contents of the sd card and copy new
contents onto the card. I am able to see this content ( images ) with
the gallery app once I unmount the card.

So, the card is working, both read and write. But it seems that apps
generally can not write to the card - I am guessing that the camera
app tries to write a file when starting up, and the failure message is
caused by the fact that it can not write.

I have my own app under development, and it can not write to the card
as well - I did add the new android.permission.WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE
to the app.

I have tried several sd cards, I've formatted them etc. Same results

Does anyone have an idea what is going on ?

thanks,
Peter
