so frustrating setting up gprs and mms... i've been searching in threads, forums, and trying different ways .
problem is, my gprs works, but not mms. the data is correct ie. apn, proxy, port, username, password etc as these settings are used in my other phones and both gprs + mms work on these other phones. usually mms and gprs are set under 2 different apns. however in android, all is set under the same apn. the top half seems to be for the gprs setting, the bottom half starting with mmsc field for mms. the issue is, i think, mms usually has a different apn, user name, and password (depending on the network sometimes different proxy and port) and in android, these mms's apn, user name, and password are not asked (the fields are not there in the bottom half of the setting screen), so that's why it doesnt work. i 've even tried to add a different apn for mms so there are 2 apn one for gprs and one for mms. for the mms apn, i've inputed the correct apn for mms , user name, password, proxy, port, and left the bottom half mmsc, etc. blank, but still didn't work. a question rather, although you set two different apns, android only selects the first apn; and you dont know either whether automatically android would use the "right" apn when performing either task (mms or gprs). my LG renoir, and my winmo-based Samsung c6625 (aka valencia) automatically download operator settings for gprs and mms so i didnt have to set them up manually. any advice, a lot of people seem to be having the same problem. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Android Discuss" group.
