The G1, at least, doesn't have line-level out anywhere: you can't get
pre-amplified audio, period. (At least, not using the audio features
of the OS). I'm hoping to ditch XM in our vehicles and move to
Pandora, so I face the same problem. I'm hoping I can solve it with
this dirt-cheap ($4.19) stereo to line-level converter.

I found the same device elsewhere for just barely more than $2 (it's
just some resistors inside) but they weren't from the kind of sites
that I want to give my credit card number. An attenuator isn't great,
but it's probably the best we can hope for in a world dominated by the
iPod-headphone types.
