I graduated as C.S. that happens to code in Java mostly these days.
Looks like they are right when they say the academic standards aren't
what they used to be (;->).

Someone correct me please, but as far as I can see - unless one was
lucky to bubble up high enough in ADC I - almost every independent dev
who fronted effort and funds isn't going to see much of a return, at
least in the foreseeable future. The list of grievances is long:
- limited exposure in Android Market in terms of presentation, global
exposure and payment options
- rampant(?) piracy
- unreasonably high entry level to AdSense
- unsophisticated integration of ads in general
- restricted ability to set up one's own payment system at an dev-
operated back
- lack of in-app micro-payments
- Google releasing apps, squashing independent devs in the process
