naa, not reboot. check the mediastore. Mediastore.Images.Media. insertImage(ContentResolver cr, Bitmap source, String title, String description) //Insert an image and create a thumbnail for it.
otherwise, mount/ unmount of sdcard should do the same trick as this invokes the mediascanner...
