Yes the 8GB version will be released at some point in the next few weeks for 249 dollars.
For now the 16GB version at 299 dollars is released (but maybe exclusively in Best Buy the first few weeks), but I'm pretty sure on store.archos.com also within weeks. And 8GB version should be available then also. Worst case scenario, you could submit your app before the end of the contest November 30th and receive a voucher within 3 weeks (if they are not too busy for Christmas) and then you could get the 8GB delivered perhaps by the beginning of January. That is, if Archos on purpose waits to release the 8GB until after Christmas, since they make more money during the Christmas sales selling the more expensive higher capacity models. But anyways, you can be pretty much 100% sure the 249 dollar 8GB version is coming.
