Dear android familys,

I am working on display driver IC sector regarding HHP business. And
nowdays I have curious about Android OS platform especially display
area.

1st Android phone supporting resolution is hVGA likewise Apple iPhone
so most of the Android smartphones adopt hVGA resolution except latest
Motorola DROID.

In connection with 3 ~ 3.5 inch resolution area, I think;
1) nHD(360RGB x 640) display is also suitable resolution for 3~3.5
inch display.
2) Next generation display for WqVGA(240RGB x 400) is nHD resolution.
. Two resolution are similar to 15:9 or 16:9 aspect ratio.
(Multimedia based. Originated from HD)
. WqVGA adopting full touch featurephone launched by SAMSUNG, LG
and etc. And furthermore those model are very popular in full touch
feature phone market.
. PPI for 3.2 inch WqVGA is 145 and PPI for 3.2 inch nHD is 230
PPI.
→ WqVGA for 3~3.5 inch touch phone has low display quality so
that will move to nHD because of similar aspect ratio.
Because of Above reason I think Android need to prepare nHD resolution
for next SDK emulator.

If you have any problem concerning my opinion, please send me your
curious e-mail.

I look forward to receiving your consideration.
