Never been a great fan of the Symbian phones (which is a shame as I was an avid Psion user). Love my G1, love Android. If you've not been able to play with one yet, then get a copy of the dev kit and play with the emulator for a feel.
The mailing list is probably not the best place to ask this question; you might be better off in IRC or reading some of the many many (many) already published articles explaining people's preferences.
