Yes, CommonsWare receives a royalty from sales of _Beginning Android_.

The digital editions definitely have their advantages: continually
updated, more content for the dollar/euro/yuan/zloty, and a few goodies
only available to subscribers. But, you're right -- there are people who
prefer paper. If I hadn't sold print rights to Apress, the book under my
title would still be in print.

Also, the Apress edition should be available through Safari, for those who
sprung for that service.
