I dropped a hundred on these today at the Apple store and I am having the exact same problems as you. I too wondered if I got a defective mic.. i just don't understand why Google/Motorola would not make this compatible with it being an Iphone contender when there are all these awesome headsets out there and we have to either use stereo bluetooth or wired stereo with no mic.. RIDICULOUS!!
